You’ll meet the balloon crew near Bakewell, either in the early light of morning or later in the day as evening settles in. The balloon is unpacked and laid out on the grass, and there’s a quiet buzz of anticipation as it all gets underway. It usually takes around an hour to get everything ready.
You can help out with the setup if you’d like, or simply enjoy the atmosphere as the burners roar to life and the balloon begins to rise.

The pilot will chat through the landmarks as you go. There’s time for photos, but also plenty of quiet moments just to look and enjoy.
